If the burden of glasses or changing contact lenses have been troubling you a bit too much, it’s time to consider  LASIK laser eye surgery. The quick and easy procedure for glass removal and contact lens removal is accepted worldwide to correct the refractive error of eyes like nearsightedness o, farsightedness  and  astigmatism. In fact, it takes barely few minutes to bid adieu to spectacles.

WHAT’S LASIK?

At Prime Eye Hospital & LASIK Centre, Alwar, we offer India’s best Lasik eyeglasses removal surgery with our latest Alcon Wavelight Ex 500 Excimer laser technique. During this  LASIK procedure, the ophthalmologist creates a thin flap in the clear surface of the eye, and than reshapes the cornea with excimer laser.

But,  an individual may not be considered for LASIK eye surgery in the following circumstances :

  • Age  below 18 years
  • Diabetes mellitus patient
  • Pregnant or Lactating mother
  • Have eye conditions such as Glaucoma, Dry Eyes, etc.

However, our  ophthalmologist will do tests and recommend if you are an ideal candidate for LASIK operation or not.

LASIK

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is a corneal flap based procedure for correction of refractive error in eye. It can be used in patients with myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism at ease. It has had a 25 year follow up data across the world and is considered safe in  selected cases. Prime Eye Hospital & LASIK Centre, Alwar offers  Touchless LASIK and Microkeratome Blade technological options for performing this procedure.

However,  eye evaluation is necessary before any laser procedure is performed. Therefore, check with your ophthalmologist whether or not you are an ideal candidate for LASIK. The recovery time after LASIK surgery varies but in most cases if takes only 2-7 days to restore vision quality.

POSTOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER LASER REFRACTIVE SURGERY

The  success to attain perfect vision  depends on careful execution of the postoperative instructions.

Take care of the following points after undergoing the LASIK procedure:

  • Refrain from accidentally touching or rubbing the eyes as that can displace the delicate flap
  • Blink your eyes normally during the first day, after the LASIK procedure
  • Irritation, watering, and soreness in the first few hours is perfectly normal
  • Swimming/scuba diving should be avoided for a month.
  • Rigorous physical activity  should be avoided for a month
  • Eye make-up and face treatments should be avoided completely for a month
  • Wear sunglasses to protect the eyes against sunlight

ICL

IPCL or Implantable Phakic Contact Lens is most suitable for the patients who cannot undergo LASIK or PRK due to thin corneal profile or extreme refractive error.

Unlike CL’s(Contact lenses), IPCLs are surgically implanted directly into the eye. IPCL eye surgery is safe, painless, and reversible and effective in most cases, including presbyopia. The surgery requires proper planning and implantation to achieve best results.

WHY CHOOSE IPCL EYE TREATMENT?

IPCL is similar to a contact lens which is inserted into the eye through a tiny 2.8 mm incision. These lenses rectify the long-range of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism (cylindrical power) and presbyopia (both distance and near vision). IPCL offers a high-quality vision and corrects refractive power, enhancing the quality of vision. It is foldable and thus, can be inserted through a small incision which ultimately ensures faster healing.

BENEFITS OF IPCL

  • No removal of corneal tissue
  • It is a painless procedure and requires no hospitalization.
  • Offers an HD vision
  • The process takes approx 8-10 minutes per eye
  • Recovery is fast and patients can go back to work within 1-2 days of the surgery.

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK)

A type of laser eye surgery, used to improve vision by amending refractive errors of eyes such as Myopia, Hypermetropia, and astigmatism. Its esp. useful for patients which are unfit for lasik due to high power and thin cornea.

-PRK (Photorefractive keratectomy) is technically elementary than LASIK and make use of same modern laser treatment systems.
